Learn about what a subluxation is and what causes them.
What is a subluxation? Why do chiropractors talk about this?
A subluxation is a term used to describe spinal/nerve dysfunction. When you look at the body as a whole, understanding that the spinal cord is attached to the spinal column (like a guitar string), you will realize that the tone of this spinal cord, sets the tone for every cell, tissue and organ in the body. The idea is that your central nervous system – the brain and spinal cord – send information both ways. The spinal cord is the highway of information to your brain where messages can be interpreted and outputs to the body.
What causes a subluxation?
Physical, emotional and chemical stressors can cause nerve dysfunction. This is why we speak about adaptation and the body’s ability to have reserve and resilience. We are working with each individual, because what stresses one person out, may not stress another.
A subluxation is that area of your nervous system that is not communicating to its optimum. Through specific and light force adjustments we free up the communication in your body, normalizing your nervous system, and allowing your body the ability to function at its optimum.
