There are two important ingredients that one must consider when healing the human body. The inevitable – time.  The other is consistency. No matter what you want to accomplish these two must occur.

Time is a no-brainer.  If you break your leg, it will take time to heal.  If you cut yourself, it will also take time to heal.  If you want to make lasting changes in your health, such as increasing your fitness or losing weight, it will take time.

The next key ingredient is consistency. Rome was not built in a day. If you want to lose weight, you must consistently – on a daily basis – consider your nutrition, hydration, exercise.  Then, with time, you will see the changes.

Consistency is intertwined with discipline.  It is not easy to make lasting changes.  If it was easy, everyone would be doing it!  Discipline is training yourself to do an action regardless of your feelings towards it.  For example, if you set the goal of losing weight, and part of that process is exercise, regardless of if you want to weight train or go for a walk, you just do it!

You can apply this formula for anything you want to change in your life.  Healing can be emotional, physical, or even mental and spiritual. Whatever it is, healing takes time and consistency.
