Two Things you can begin now to help improve your wellbeing:

How often do you take time for yourself?  So often I hear people talk about how busy they are, or how they are the ones who must take care of another; all the responsibilities they have.  What about you? The most important person is you! You can not help another, if you are not filling up your own cup. It is important to take time for yourself and do things to improve your wellbeing.

The most precious gift of all is TIME.  And when people talk about how busy they are, they follow up with the excuse of not having enough time to take care of themselves.  The truth is, there IS time.  It depends on what you prioritize as the most important thing for you.  Life is nothing if your health is at jeopardy.  So, take the time to take care of yourself!

Here are two things you can begin doing each day to help improve your health and to improve your wellbeing.

  1. Begin the morning with gratitude and/or laughter. Begin with a clip on YouTube of a comedian you like, or checkout a comic or joke website.  You can also write down five things you are grateful for before you even get out of bed.  This sets a great tone of positive thoughts for the day. And positive thoughts have been shown to help your health by boosting your immune system.
  2. Breathe! Take as little as one minute or as long as a half-hour.  Focusing on your breathing is a great way to decrease your fight or flight response quickly.  If you do not like meditating, then beginning by breathing in for four counts – pausing – and then exhaling for four counts is where you can begin, and believe or not, if it quiets your mind, you just meditated!
